Hey Everyone,
This past month has been pretty busy. Just wanted to update you on what I've been up to.
After my Nashville jaunt, I headed to Chicago, where I did three performances in two days. This was supposed to be a band thing, but my bassist had to drop out at the last minute. So, I carried on solo and as a duo.

First up was a short acoustic set at Uncommon Ground on Thursday 4/20. Well attended and well received. I really enjoyed meeting many of my Chicago email buddies face-to-face.
On Friday afternoon I did a live in-studio performance and interview at

WLUW 88.7 FM ("Left Of The Dial" anyone). I had a lot of fun and Melissa the DJ, was very sweet.
That evening, I had the honor of opening the IPO Chicago Festiv

al at Gunther Murphy. The room was full to capacity and I played my set with good friend, Bob Kelly of the excellent "pop" band, Kelly's Heels. I felt very good about our performance and had a great time. Hell, I sold out of all my Cd's I brought, so someone dug us.
Moving into May, I returned to one of my all-time favorite gigs in LA, Ronnie Mack's Barndance at the El Cid. Played with my regular band which includes Andy Bartel/guitar, Steve Kobashigawa/bass & John Borack/drums.
We played a six song set of "pop-abilly" tunes (sorry John, had to borrow that one). We went over really well, considering we sounded nothing like any of the other acts on the bill and got one encore. One young lass told me we sounded like the Byrds. Ok!
Last but not least, I was just informed that a solo track I submitted to Canadian label Bullseye Records, accepted my version Springsteen's "Sad Eyes," for their release of Bruce Trib "Light Of Day: A Tribute To Bruce Springsteen."
It looks to be released sometime this summer. I'm really quite proud I made the cut. 100% of the net proceeds from sales of this CD set will be split evenly between the Parkinson's Disease Foundation and the Kristen Ann Carr Fund which fights Sarcoma, a rare cancer.
As always, I'll keep you posted.
Thanks,
Barry
